Zachary J. Quinto (born in 1977) first appeared on television in the short-lived series The Others. He then made guest appearances on other television shows such as CSI, Touched by an Angel, Lizzie McGuire, Dragnet, Six Feet Under, Joan of Arcadia, Crossing Jordan and Charmed. Beginning in 2004, Zachary played a recurring role on 24 as Adam Kaufman. Zachary also co-starred in Tori Spelling?s sitcom So NoTORIous.

Sylar

Zachary J. Quinto currently plays the role of Gabriel Gray (more commonly known as Sylar) on Heroes. Gabriel was a second-generation watchmaker who despised his profession. He was originally approached by Chandra Suresh (Mohinder?s father) and told that he may possess special powers. Desperate to prove that he was ?special? Gabriel contacted another person on Chandra?s list of people potentially possessing powers and identified that the man possessed telekinetic abilities. He then murdered the man and absorbed his powers. Sylar?s power is the ability to absorb and use the powers of other superhumans.

Later, Sylar and Chandra Suresh had a falling out, though the reasons for that are unknown. Sylar then killed Chandra, prompting Mohinder to come to New York to finish his father?s work. After Chandra?s death, Sylar became a serial killer by using Chandra?s research to find other heroes around the country and kill them, absorbing their powers along the way. Eventually, Sylar was targeted by the FBI and was brought to the attention of Matt Parkman, who teamed up with an FBI agent for a time to find Sylar. Sylar eventually attacked Claire?s classmate, whom he believed to possess powers due to an article in the newspaper. During the attack, Peter Petrelli appeared and fought with Sylar, saving Claire and himself by absorbing Claire?s healing abilities. Sylar was captured by Mr. Bennet after the attack on Claire and tests were performed on him, but he escaped.

Sylar teamed up with Mohinder after he killed a man named Zane Taylor, who was expecting a visit from Mohinder. Pretending to be Zane, Sylar and Mohinder discovered more heroes, who also fall victim to Sylar. Eventually, Mohinder discovered that ?Zane? is in fact Sylar and tied him up, attempting to perform experiments on him. However, Sylar used his powers to escape and, when Peter showed up at Mohinder?s apartment, attacked Peter, beginning to slice his head open.
