Jack Coleman (born in 1958) began his acting career in the soap opera Days of our Lives. His career skyrocketed when he was cast on Dynasty in 1982 and began portraying one of the first openly gay characters on television over a period of six years. Later, Jack made guest appearances on Nip/Tuck, CSI: Miami, Entourage and Without a Trace. Jack has also written screenplays for Studio City and the upcoming Can't Help Falling. Jack is a sixth generation grandchild of Benjamin Franklin and is married with one daughter.
Jack Coleman currently plays the role of Mr. Bennet (a.k.a. Horn-Rimmed Glasses) on Heroes. Bennet lives in Odessa, Texas with his wife, Sandra, his adopted daughter, Claire, and his son, Lyle. Bennet is employed at Primatech Paper Company, but it has been revealed that this is no ordinary business. All of the employees travel around the world discovering people with superhuman abilities. The true purpose of seeking out these 'heroes' is still unknown. However, we do know that Bennet also works with several people who posses different abilities, including the Haitian (who can wipe memories), the deceased Eden McCain (who could control minds) and, many years ago, Claude (who has the ability to be invisible).
Shortly after the beginning of the show, Bennet discovered his daughter Claire's ability to heal herself. Bennet has attempted to harm and/or help (we're not certain of his true intentions) several of the other characters on the show, including Nathan Petrelli, Issac Mendez, Matt Parkman and Sylar. Bennet is also aware that Mohinder Suresh possesses a list of people with superhuman abilities that was created by his father, Chandra Suresh, who he also had put under surveillance when Chandra contacted Bennet regarding Claire. Recently, Bennet was told by his employers that he was to turn over Claire as she had begun manifesting her abilities. Instead of turning over his adopted daughter, Bennet gave her to the Haitian for safekeeping and ordered the Haitian to wipe his memory of any information that could be used to find Claire. Bennet's family is now aware that he does not simply work for a paper company, after he managed to keep his real job secret for many years, although they are not fully aware of what his job entails.
