Sendhil Ramamurthy (born in 1974) originally attended Tufts University as a pre-med student to follow in the footsteps of his parents, both of whom are physicians. He became interested in acting when he signed up for an ?Introduction to Acting? course during his junior year. After appearing in several plays, he decided to pursue a career in acting instead of medicine. Sendhil has made guest appearances on several television shows, including Casualty, Ultimate Force, Guiding Light, Grey?s Anatomy and Numb3ers. He has also appeared in several feature films, including Little India, Thanks to Gravity and Blind Dating.

Sendhil makes a conscious effort not to audition for stereotypical Indian roles. He is married to actress Olga Sosnovska and has one daughter.

Mohinder Suresh

Sendhil Ramamurthy currently plays the role of Mohinder Suresh on Heroes. Mohinder is a genetics professor from India, who originally came to New York to investigate the death of his father, Chandra Suresh, whom he believed was murdered for his genetics research. Mohinder began renting his father?s apartment in Brooklyn and found most of father?s genetic research on superhumans had been left behind after his death. Mohinder met one of his father?s neighbors, Eden, and the two began working together to sort through Chandra?s research. Mohinder also discovered information regarding a man named ?Sylar?, whom Chandra had dubbed ?Patient Zero? and had a falling out with.

Mohinder?s examination of his father?s research eventually led him to Nathan Petrelli, whom he questioned about being a superhuman. Nathan was too involved in his upcoming congressional election to take Mohinder seriously, but he eventually told his brother, Peter Petrelli, about Mohinder. Peter?s meeting with Mohinder led the two of them to connect with Isaac Mendez. After Peter met a future version of Hiro Nakamura on a subway, he told Mohinder about the meeting and Mohinder, convinced that Peter was crazy, opted to return to India with his father?s ashes.

Back in India, Mohinder is told about a sister he didn?t know of who died when he was very young and, after having several prophetic dreams, he opted to return to New York to continue his father?s research. Back in New York, Mohinder decided to locate the people rumored to have abilities on his father?s list and warn them of Sylar. He also reconnected with Nathan Petrelli, and attempted to help Nathan figure out what?s wrong with Peter.

Mohinder eventually traveled to meet a man named Zane Taylor, whom he believed had special abilities. Unbeknownst to Mohinder, Sylar had discovered Zane and killed him before Mohinder arrived. Sylar, who had absorbed Zane?s powers, convinced Mohinder that he was Zane and the two of them paired up to track down the other superhumans. Eventually, Mohinder discovered Sylar?s true identity and attempted to subdue him to perform tests on him. Unfortunately, Sylar escaped and had Mohinder pinned to the ceiling when Peter Petrelli walked in. Mohinder observed Sylar as he cut into Peter?s head.
